Greetings,

Once again, sending out our little music newsletter seems rather trivial in light of the horrible natural and manmade disasters going on in the world. We do hope all of you and your loved ones are well and safe from the horrendous events we hear about in the news. Our hearts go out to all the people affected by the hurricanes and earthquakes and wars that have devastated so many lives.

We’re grateful for every day we have the opportunity to enjoy life as we’ve known it. Music seems to be one small thing we can do that can help make people smile.

We’ll be playing at the Calistoga Farmers Market next Saturday Morning,
October 15th — 8:30 to 12:30
Dan Brunetti and Terry Ann Gillette will join us.

The next day
Oct. 16th– from around 12:00pm until 5:00 pm (or so..)
The 4 of us will be playing several sets throughout the day at the Adobe Pumpkin Farm in Petaluma.
Located at 2478 East Washington St. (on the east side of Hwy.101)

We hope to have our good friend, Christopher Smith, joining us at some point, (depending on his other gigs.) Christopher is an amazing song writer and great musician. We’ll be singing a few of his quirky wonderful songs at this event. We’ve been learning one of his new ones, perfect for this occasion, a song called “Pumpkin Town,” that makes us laugh every time we hear it.

Oct 22nd — We’ll play at the Pumpkin Farm again.(Possibly the 23rd too, though we haven’t committed to that yet.)
These are the 2 big weekends of the year for the Adobe Pumpkin Farm. They’ll have hayrides and picnicing by the lake from 10am until 6pm.
Hope you can make it out to get your pumpkins and hear some music!
Love,
Lindalou and Michael

P.S. Thanks to the folks who have bought our CD recently at CD Baby where all proceeds continue to go to the Red Cross.

Hi everyone!
We hope you’ve all been having a great summer.
It’s been a while since we’ve sent an update of our music adventures. We’ve been playing some great private events this summer. Also had the opportunity to hear and play with some wonderful musicians. We’ve added a links page to our website where we have links to a few friends and some of our favorite musicians.

We finally have a couple of things lined up to let you all know about. We’ve had a lot of new names added to our ever growing mailing list. We want to welcome and thank those of you who signed our list or have recently bought our CD! Hope you’re enjoying our music~

Here are some dates we have coming up:

Saturday AUGUST 27th
8:30 AM — 12:00 PM

Calistoga Farmers Market

(accompanied by Dan Brunetti on guitar and Terry Ann Gillette on fiddle)

The last farmers Market we played in Calistoga was wonderful. It’s a small but great market and we had a really nice response to our music which always makes it more fun to play!

Saturday SEPTEMBER 17th
At Calistoga High School

We’ll be playing for Calistoga’s Relay For Life.

This is a wonderful 24 hour event that we volunteered for last year as well. It was a huge success for Calistoga’s first Relay for Life, which benefits the American Cancer Society.
We’ll be there all day until we leave to play a wedding ceremony around 5:00. We’ll be back after the wedding to play more, on and off throughout the evening. Danny and Terry Ann and hopefully some other great musician friends will join us. Let us know if you’d like to play a few songs or join a team for this event!

Saturday OCTOBER 15th
8:30 AM — 12:00 PM

Calistoga Farmers Market

Just a reminder that our CD Beginner’s Luck is still for sale at this great online service called CD Baby.
Once a year they have a contest to encourage all us independent artists to try to push our CD sales. So they choose the top 100 sales for the month of August, and pick a song off of each of those CD’s to put on a compilation CD. Then they send that CD (with each artists info) as a bonus CD to the next 5000 customers. They say you can sell as few as 30 CD’s to be among the top 100 sales. So once again… we’d like to encourage you to consider buying our CD (perhaps as a gift for a friend!)

Thanks again for supporting independent music!
Hope to see you here in Calistoga soon~
Love,
Lindalou and Michael

Hi everyone far and near,

We’re off to the Strawberry Music Festival for the beginning of a music filled summer! We’ll be jamming around the campsites with dear old friends and new friends for the next few days, when we aren’t dancing to the many incredible musicians on the main stage or riding our bikes over to one of the other 2 stages for workshops, or swimming in Birch lake. Today was our last day of work this week and we can hardly wait to leave! Unfortunately both Spring and Fall festivals are sold out, but you can check out the website if you want to:
http://strawberrymusic.com/

We’ll come home on Monday only to leave again the following Saturday for The Wild Iris Folk Festival at the Mendocino County fairgrounds in Boonville. We’ll play a “tweener” (a short set between the main acts) at 12:30pm on Saturday June 4th on the Wild Iris Stage. The great Joe Craven and Django Latino will play later that day, and the amazing Waybacks close the show on Sunday. We’ll be camping out and jamming with friends after the show on Saturday. Should be another wonderful weekend. Tickets are still available at http://www.wildirisfolkfestival.org/ where you can also see the schedule. Hope some of you can come!

On June 11th at 8:30 am to noon
We’ll be playing at the Calistoga Farmer’s
market. (Yikes! We’re not used to playing in the morning unless we’ve been out
playing all night!) This should be a fun gig though once we wake up. Terry Ann
Gillette and Dan Brunetti plan to accompany us.

On June 18th 11:00 to 5:30 Art In The
Park

We’re playing in the Gazebo in Pioneer Park in Calistoga. Lots
of great local art on display and for sale, benefitting the artists and the
Calistoga Art Center. Terry Ann and Dan will join us again.

That’s what we’re up to for now. More dates coming later in the summer. Hope
you’ve all been enjoying the erratic Spring weather, and have a great summer.
Hope to see you along the way!

Be well,
Lindalou and Michael

Happy 2005! We have some music dates to let you all know about. We realize many of you on our mailing list are way too far away to come but we still want to keep you all posted about what we’re up to and hope some of you can make it out to enjoy our music sometime.

On January 16th there is a Tsunami Aid Concert in Sonoma. We offered to play but they had too many musicians already scheduled, so they said we might get a chance to donate our services for the next one they do, as the need for aid there will unfortunately go on for years. This concert will be in the Sonoma Square at Andrews Hall 12:30 to 5:30 with 10 local bands and a raffle.

We’re playing these dates:

January 20th, Thursday 4:30 to 8:00 pm. @ Lagunitas Brewing Company
With Dan Brunetti on guitar and vocals and Terry Ann Gillette on fiddle.
1280 North McDowell Blvd. Petaluma, CA http://www.lagunitas.com/ 707-769-4495
No cover charge. Great beer on tap!
January 22nd, 1:00 to 5:00 pm. @ Graton Community Center (in Graton, CA)
This is a benefit potluck/concert for our dear longtime friend Karin Lease who suffered a brain aneurism on Christmas day. She’s home from the hospital recuperating now after a successful surgery. Her partner Andy and several friends are organizing this benefit for her. We’ll have Dan Brunetti and Terry Ann Gillette accompanying us.
Twin Souls (poster)
February 13th, 4:00 to 5:30 pm. @ Sebastopol Community Center (in Sebastopol CA.)
$15.00 cover charge. We’ll be opening this Valentine show for our good friends Maria and Diego Jameau, a wonderful duo, known as “Twin Souls.” They’ll also be playing at the benefit for Karin.

Hope to see you soon.

Wishing you all the best,
Love,

Lindalou and Michael

Seasons Greetings! Welcome to all the new folks who recently signed our mailing list. Hope you are all well and able to find time to relax and enjoy the holidays, even with the troubled state we find our world in. Sometimes it seems trivial to be focusing on music at a time like this, but we hope people find some respite and healing from listening to music. It helps us get through each day and we hope we’re spreading some of that around.

We only have private events lined up right now except for one thing this weekend. Our local Community Presbyterian church here in Calistoga has asked us to play this Sunday Dec. 5th at their 10:30 am weekly service. Although we’re not members of the church, we have played a wedding and a memorial service there and since then they’ve hired us from time to time. This time they’ve asked us to do some Christmas carols. (They didn’t mind that we’ve taken the liberty of changing a couple of lyrics we weren’t quite comfortable with!) The Pastor, David Moon Wainwright, also asked us to play 4 songs he chose off of our CD which we look forward to doing. This church service is of course open to all and there will be coffee and cookies and people making advent wreaths after the service.

We want to remind folks that we’re available to play parties and at this time of year we have some traditional and alternative holiday songs including instrumentals of some of the old carols.

Also a reminder that our CD’s make nice gifts. Most of you on our mailing list already have a copy yourselves, and if you’ve enjoyed it, someone you know might like it too! If you are interested you can go to www.cdbaby.com/cd/llmr or, of course, you can contact us directly at 707-942-0913 or by email at tunes@lindalouandmichael.net

Wishing you all the best,
Peace and Happy Holidays~
Lindalou and Michael

Saturday June 19th Private Wedding

Sunday July 18th Summer Concert series in Lyman Park (St. Helena)
(More info about this later.)

We’re still reeling after our memorial day weekend. Another amazing Strawberry Festival. This was one of the most emotionally intense festivals we’ve experienced. Spent a lot of time with close friends of our sweet friend Charlie Cutten who was killed by a careless driver a couple of months ago, just a few minutes from his home in La Honda. We had known him since our first Strawberry Fest back in ’96. We had a tradition of meeting him under a particular street light up on Hog Ranch road at 3am to jam and sing harmonies. He was an incredible musician with a wonderful spirit. We always referred to him as “Charlie the Elf.” Last fall when we left Strawberry we traded CD’s ( he finished recording his around the same time we finished ours.) We listened to each others music on the long drive home. His CD is all instrumental and it’s truly beautiful and soothing to listen to. So sad to lose such a friend. So grateful to have his music to comfort us.

At his memorial service in La Honda a few weeks ago we met several of his sweet friends who we got to know better and play music with last weekend. He’s still bringing new friends together and bringing more music into the world.
You can check out his music here if you’re interested.

Hope to see some of you out enjoying some live music soon.
Love, Lindalou and Michael

Thanks to Jimmy Humble of KZYX and Robin Pressman of KRCB for helping us spread our music around. They both have great shows every weekend. Hope you’re all enjoying this lovely spring weather.
Love and best wishes,
Lindalou and Michael

Greetings friends, family & music lovers,

We want to stay in touch with all of you about our music. We’ve been playing some great private events and really having fun. We played a wedding reception at our local Tucker Farm Center yesterday and must have played 30 or 40 songs. We had Terry Ann playing fiddle and our old friend Dan Brunetti backing us up on guitar and vocals. Such a joy to see all those folks dancing and singing along.

On friday night we had the honor of opening the 2nd set of Stevie Coyle’s (of the Waybacks) great solo show at the Papillon cafe in Lafayette. A wonderful little concert series started by Charlotte Gibb, which benefits their local arts organizations. We’ll be playing there in June and will let you know when we have the date set.

You can buy our CD (or write a review if you’ve already got it) on our CDbaby page. They’re having kind of a contest this month. The top 100 best selling CD’s in February will be chosen to have one song put on a CDbaby compilation CD that will be sent out free with every order (5ooo copies) with contact info on each artist featured on the CD. We haven’t been selling too many CD’s on line yet so chances are slim of making it onto this promo CD, but it would be fun to try! So we’re reminding you all that if you have enjoyed our CD some of your friends might enjoy it too! Music makes a nice gift!

Thanks again to all of you who bought our CD over the holidays. We’ve had some really nice feedback from folks who received it as a gift.
Hope you’re all well and wishing you the best. Thanks again for supporting independent music!

Love, Lindalou & Michael

Greetings!

We’re playing at the Calistoga Bookstore again on Dec.12 at 7:30pm.

We’ll play songs from our CD and some from the next CD and a few traditional and non traditional Holiday songs. Terry Ann will be joining us on fiddle and perhaps we’ll be lucky enough to get some other guest musicians to join us. Hope to see some of you there. Come out and make merry and bring your good cheer!

Hope you all had a warm cozy Thanksgiving with your loved ones. (Those of you in this country who celebrate Thanksgiving, that is! ) We hope the rest of you are warm & cozy and with loved ones too.

I’m sending this message to everyone on our mailing list again even though some of you are way too far away or way too busy to come to Calistoga to hear us play! If you’re on our list you’re either a friend or family (or both! ) or you’re someone who signed our mailing list at one of our gigs ( which makes you a friend too — ) So we want to stay in touch from time to time with all of you. If you’re reading this on our website and would like to be added to our list, email us at tunes@lindalouandmichael.net and let us know.

We’ve been playing lots of music with some incredible musicians, but not in any public venues since October when we had a great turn out and a wonderful evening at the Petaluma Cafe. We really appreciate Barbara Arhon’s efforts to support independent musicians with the Petaluma Folk Music Concert Series.

After celebrating Thanksgiving with family we spent the weekend with our kids at a good friends 60th birthday party in Ukiah, where we had the opportunity to jam all weekend with an incredible musician named Ollie Shearer, who came out from NY for the party, he plays vibes. It was a blast and quite an honor for us to play with this guy who’s been a professional musician since before we were born!

Then on Monday night we had a new friend over for dinner and a jam. Lisa Sangita Moskow plays Sarod beautifully. You can check out Lisa’s website if you want to at www.lisamoskow.com

We feel so grateful to be connecting with such talented musicians!

We now have our CD up for sale on CDbaby, which is a great place to find all kinds of great independent music. You can check it out at www.cdbaby.com/llmr

Hope you’re all well and enjoying the season. May the world find peace and harmony in our lifetimes!

Happy Holidaze!

Love, Lindalou & Michael
