Happy New Year!

We started the year off right playing a great private party with the amazing Hank Levine on New Years Day. What a blast! This was the 2nd year in a row the Castelli’s have had us play their big party.

We’re looking forward to playing with Hank again on Friday evening February 1st at Fresh Restaurant in Santa Rosa.

We’re getting ready to play our 2nd annual Memorial Benefit House Concert in memory of my Dad, Ken Harris, on Feb 23rd. He would have been turning 88 on February 26th. This will once again be a benefit to raise money for a hospital in Nepal that my sister and brother in law have been very involved in supporting as it’s been built by a Nepalese friend of theirs. Below is the invitation my sister Jeanette has sent out. We hope to see you there. Please open the invitation/flyer below for details and RSVP to my sister.

We’ve been asked at the last minute to play the Calistoga Farmer’s Market tomorrow Saturday Dec. 8th – 9am to noon.
We thought we had played the last market of the season on Oct 27th, but they decided to extend the market this year until January.

The market is smaller now so we’ll be playing unplugged as a duo. The weather should be great and we’re looking forward to it!
Hope to see you there.

Cur-ville Dog Days Music Fest!

Dear friends,
We’re on our way to play for a 70th anniversary party for a sweet couple in Calistoga today. Virginia and Jess Dooley are in their 90’s and still going steady! Virginia still dances when she hears us playing at the farmer’s market. Hopefully there will be plenty of shade today when it’ll be so hot, or maybe they’ll move the party inside. We’re playing there for 3hrs before going to play at another party for some neighbors.

Next Saturday, August 18th, we’re looking forward to playing a small backyard festival in Kenwood which you’re all invited to!

Note: After I posted this news and sent it out to our mailing list, due to a cancellation, we were asked to play the Calistoga Farmer’s Market this coming Saturday August 18th from 9am to noon. So we’ll be there playing with Dan Brunetti and David Chapman before going to play at the Cur-ville fest later that day.

The Cur-ville Dog Days Music Festival is in it’s 7th year. This year we’ll once again be closing the show and inviting a few pals including Ted Dutcher and Phil Lawrence, to join us.  There will be great music all day starting at 1:30 pm. We’ll play from 7:30 to 8:15 and then the jamming around the campfire begins. If it’s as hot as this weekend perhaps they’ll forgo the campfire and we’ll just jam around the wading pool! This is a kid friendly potluck and a really fun event. Dale and Laura have been putting this on every year and providing a wonderful venue, great entertainment on a shady stage, along with a keg of good beer, a great space to camp out and a delicious pancake breakfast on Sunday morning when the jamming usually starts up again.

Please see the website or contact us for more details. Stay cool and we hope to see you there!

Love, Lindalou and Michael

We spent last weekend camping with friends and family, playing music and dancing at the wonderful Kate Wolf Memorial Music festival up at the beautiful Black Oak Ranch in Laytonville.  There was incredible music on several stages Friday through Sunday. We rode our bikes from one stage to the next and back to camp for great meals and jamming with friends into the wee hours. What a joy!

This weekend we look forward to playing a wedding here in Calistoga. This wedding is located beside a vineyard where Michael and I had a job together when we first moved to Calistoga in 1980. We played the couple a love song, called “I’ll Meet You in the Vineyard,” that Michael wrote for me back then, (while working in that vineyard,) and they chose that song for their ceremony!

July 14th, 9am to noon
We’ll be back at the Calistoga Farmer’s Market.
This time we’ll play as a duo since our friends Danny and David will both be out of town.
That same day, later in the afternoon, we’ll be playing a private event for a rural neighborhood group called the Alpine Club.

July 28th, We’ll play for our good friend’s Gaelen and Lily’s wedding up in Garberville.  We’re excited that they chose to start their ceremony with the song we wrote for our own wedding vows back in 1980.

August 4th, We’re invited again to play a private annual Blackberry picking party, a really fun party some dear friends have asked us to play for the past 4 years.

August 5th, We’ll be back at the Windsor Farmer’s Market.

August 12th, We’ve been asked to play a 70th anniversary party for Virginia and Jess Dooley. Virginia is in her 90’s and still going strong. She dances up to us when she hears us playing at the farmer’s market!

August 18th, We look forward to playing again, for our 4th year in a row, at the annual Cur-Ville Dog Days Music Festival in Kenwood.

August 31st, We’re excited about playing a wedding and making the cake for dear friends Diane and Ziggy at the Strawberry Music Festival over Labor Day weekend.

September 13th, We’re looking forward to playing at the 2012 National Heirloom Exposition (hopefully our first annual!)

Sept 15th, We’ll be back at the Calistoga Farmer’s Market.

October 7th, We’ll play the Windsor Farmer’s Market again and later that day for our first time at the Healdsburg Pumpkin Festival.

Oct 27th, We’ll play the last Calistoga Farmer’s Market of the year.

November 1st, We’ll be back for one more Windsor Farmer’s Market this year.

We’re so glad to be able to play music between our regular day jobs which we haven’t been able to quit yet!

We hope you’re all well and enjoying summer too.

All the best,

Lindalou and Michael

Hi friends,

Due to a cancellation we’ve been asked to play at the Calistoga Farmers Market tomorrow morning,
Saturday June 9th, from 9am to noon
Bob Castell- Blanch was scheduled to play Latin Jazz but he can’t make it. We hope no one is too disappointed to hear folk music instead of Latin Jazz!

We’ll be there with our friend Dan Brunetti and hope to see you there if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

We’ll be there again on July 14th. In the meantime we’ve been playing some great private parties and have a couple of weddings coming up that we look forward to playing in July. Please keep us in mind if you or someone you know might like us to play at their event. Thanks!

In harmony,

Lindalou and Michael

Calistoga Education Foundation Auction
Saturday, May 5th  4:30 to 6:30
This fun event actually goes until 9:30 and will be in the Tubbs Building at the Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga. We’ll play with David and Dan during the silent auction. Natalie Moon Wainwright will sing a few songs right before the live auction. There will be a dance after the live auction with great music by the Cassidy Crowley Band.

We’ll play a private party late that night, jamming with friends into the wee hours as long as our fingers and voices hold up!

We hope you’re all well and have had a happy healthy Earth Day!

Peace,

Lindalou and Michael

Hi Folks,
March has flown by and we’ve been playing a bit but no public gigs this month. We have a couple of things coming up later this Spring.

Our house concert back on February 25th was really fun and a nice way to honor my late Dad’s birthday. We raised almost $2000.00 for the DCWC ambulance project in Nepal. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the evening and supported this project that my sister and brother in law are so involved in. We may do another house concert to help with this in the next couple of months. They are still only at 58% of their goal, so we’d love to help them raise more funds for this.

Yesterday we found out about a cool thing that our local Oliver’s Market is doing and we just submitted a song for it. They’re calling their project “Real Music.” It’s a way for them to help local Sonoma County musicians get their music heard and it will benefit the Redwood Empire Food Bank. Sounds like a great thing to get involved in and we encourage any other Sonoma county musicians reading this to check it out.  We’re hoping they might like our music enough to invite us to play one of their events, and maybe even choose one of our songs for a compilation CD they plan to make of local musician’s original songs. It would be a great way to donate to the food bank.

We’ll keep you posted and let you know more soon about our upcoming gigs, one on April 27th in Calistoga and one on April 28th down in Rutherford at the Elizabeth Spencer Winery, as well as opening day of the Calistoga Farmer’s Market on Cinco de Mayo and the Calistoga Education Foundation Auction later in the afternoon and evening on May 5th.

Thanks for checking in and we hope you’re all well!

In harmony,

Lindalou and Michael
